Media Units

Living rooms are made for relaxing and entertaining and Lozi’s media units are perfect centrepieces for the most social room of the house. Each media unit is completely made-to-measure and full of unique design features adapted to each client’s lifestyle.

Tom & Caz, London E11

Tom and Caz’s music and tech collection had outgrown their existing vinyl storage, which doubled as a partition between the dining and living spaces. The unit was too low for Tom and left cables exposed, creating safety and aesthetic issues. While they love entertaining with dinner and records, the setup no longer showcased their passion for vinyl.

Working with Lozi’s designer-maker Rowena, they created a tailored solution. The new unit adds height, offering better access while utilising vertical space to divide the room effectively. Wooden dowels frame each album’s artwork, with features like shelf stoppers securing records and extended dowels displaying the currently-playing sleeve. Its modular design allows for future expansion, keeping the growing collection consistent.

The lower section solves tech clutter. A custom top plate fits Tom’s DJ equipment precisely, with cutouts for button access and an adaptable panel for interchangeable mixers. Thoughtful cable management ensures everything stays neat, with the unit’s depth optimised for record storage below.

A final touch address Tom’s mischievous cat - Rowena added a portable headphone hook that could be moved out of paw’s reach. The result is a functional unit that celebrates Tom and Caz’s love for vinyl and design.

Mariana & Adam, London EC2Y

In their Barbican living room, Mariana & Adam were after a multi-functional media unit to house not only their TV, but also a cherished record player and sound system. We custom-made the sideboard to each speaker’s exact dimensions, making sure the surface top would be flush with the top of the record player. The main challenge was to hide the wires, creating a fuss-free, minimalist look and feel.

By suspending the piece from the wall, we kept the concrete floor exposed underneath, helping to create more space. And perhaps our favourite touch - adding handles from an old storage cupboard within the apartment. We cleaned and polished each signature, circular handle, adding 50 years of history to a piece of Lozi furniture.

Nia & Jerome, London E9

Lozi created this elegant media unit as part of a wider kitchen renovation. With a hidden desk for day to day admin, a large display area and plenty of versatile storage, Nia & Jerome’s storage is the perfect addition to their East London home. Finished in hard-wearing white laminate which contrasts beautifully with their solid wood furniture, this media unit also reflects light, keeping their kitchen bright and airy.

Gavin, London N6

A wonderfully multi-faceted project, Gavin wanted to completely renovate his living room, with a large media unit and bookshelf as well as a folding desk nestled under the stairs. The large birch plywood media unit has ample easily accessible drawers for all his children's toys and neatly hides away any unsightly media equipment. The plasma screen may be at the centre of the design, but a colourful ombre of colour on the drawers and a nook seat for the kids mean it doesn't become the focus point of the whole room.

“My experience with Lozi was fantastic. The team were incredible from the start. Sitting down and personally going through my ideas and then bringing in their expertise into the final build process. Everything was scheduled, on time and in budget. Communication was detailed and thorough. When it came to the final fitting a great deal of care was made to get everything perfect. Soroush and his team really do care about what they are making. It’s not just ‘furniture’ but a philosophy of design and craft. Absolute pleasure dealing with the team.”
